About Us

We are pleased to introduce ourselves in the name of “Institute for Social and Environmental Affairs (IESA)”, as a committed Non Profit Organization engaged in generating sustainable livelihoods for the Artisans belonging from weaker section of the society present in backward areas of Rajasthan.

Institute for Social and Environmental Affairs is a unique platform created by a group of Artisans, Designers and Development Professionals. This society believes that artisans are the center stage and helm of all affairs, and hence we are working on key issues of Craft & Culture, Micro Finance (SHGs), Marketing platform development for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Rural Development & Poverty Alleviation, Women’s Development & Empowerment. It is widely recognized that artisans, SHGs and SME units need finance to break out of conditions of long capital investments and low working capital.

Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India approved “Leather Craft Cluster”

Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India approved “Leather Craft Cluster” at Baran Distict, Rajasthan in 36th Meeting of Scheme Steering committee (SSC) for SFURTI (Scheme of fund for Regeneration of traditional Industries held on 9th Feb, 2021.

The Process of Product development Centre (PPDC) Agra is the Nodal Agency (NA); Institute for Social and Environmental Affairs (IESA) – Implementing Agency and GH Eco Polis Pvt. Ltd. – Technical Agency as per guidelines of SFURTI cluster Implementation we have to form a working committee.

These agencies formed a society for create a organized group of Artisans as the name IESA Charm Vikas Sansthan (Special Purpose vehicle) to bring them at one cluster level for the following objectives:

  • To make them competitive and provide support for their long term sustainability and economy of scale.
  • To provide sustained employment for traditional industry artisans and rural entrepreneurs
  • To enhance marketability of products of such clusters by providing support for new products, design intervention and improved packaging and also the improvement of marketing infrastructure
  • To equip traditional artisans of the associated clusters with the improved skills and capabilities through training and exposure visits
  • To make provision for common facilities and improved tools and equipment for artisans to promote optimum utilization of infrastructure facilities.

IESA Charm Vikas Sansthan, The SPV is coming up with an e – portal to provide an equal opportunity to maximum artisans to compete equally. Fair and free opportunity to show case their craftsmanship and earn a decent remuneration for their skill/hard work. Site will have a payment portal to enable the Artisans of Baran Leather Craft Cluster to sell directly to the consumer. Apart from the regular profit, partnership/share will be provided to all the registered artisans.
